Plus none of the Asiatic Galloping Battle Elephants I accidentally placed actually show up on the map, which is oddly disappointing. So there's still a surly crowd of settlers wandering around at the start, muttering obscenities, checking their bus tickets, and eventually resorting to prostitution.

Now instead of 12 city states there have to be 24. So, try again, add the city states, give them starting spots. They still insist on starting right literally next to me, random refugee settlers standing around looking at me, judging me, I think I heard the Vienna guy call me an idiot but I don't speak Vietnamese. So, go back, assign starting spots for the other civs. You have met BudapestKievBucharestAndEveryoneElseInTheWorld! There are like 30 settlers standing around out there. Run the game, load the map, load scenario. I get it all set, with barely a smattering of random elephants, hardly any at all pretty proud of it, and save it. I make a new map, new scenario, big map with 12 civs and 12 city-states.

I try assigning a starting spot, make a scenario, accidentally place a lot more barbarian african dancing elephants or whatever those are, can't figure out how to delete them, place a salt resource on the ocean, can't seem to delete that either, and start over. This was not easy, since google insists that I mean Civ 6, but eventually I find some information.

Well, I didn't start anywhere near the spot I intended. I made a map, saved it, and started the game. I kept accidentally placing barbarian elephants all over the place. It took me an embarrassing long time to figure out how to even scroll. I figured it would take some experimenting, but good lord I am stupid now. I would just load up the map, drop in a couple of fish or something, maybe a river. I thought it would be something like Civ 4. Legendary Start just seemed to give me an unnatural amount of cocoa, over and over with the cocoa. I wasn't insisting on 15 salt mines and 5 natural wonders on day one, just, you know, not garbage. Just, not tundra desert jungle marsh nonsense with no rivers, or coastal with no fish or anything out there, or 17 mountains crowding around. You know, without restarting the game 350 times. I may have had a stroke and not realized it.
